Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., told Newsmax on Friday that “President [Donald] Trump is going to get his team in place,” no matter what “procedural hurdles” the Democrats may try to block the nominees.

On Thursday the Senate voted 51-49 to advance Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth to a final confirmation vote that could come as early as Friday evening. GOP Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine voted against the president and the rest of their party in siding with the Democrats to oppose Hegseth.

Schmitt said Trump purposely picked “disruptors” for his Cabinet.
