Rep. Chuck Edwards to Newsmax: FEMA ‘Failed’ Western N.C.

Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., told Newsmax on Friday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency “failed” the people of western North Carolina in the aftermath of the deadly storm that ravaged the region.

Edwards made the comments after touring the region with President Donald Trump on Friday. He joined “Carl Higbie FRONTLINE” to discuss Trump’s remarks at a briefing earlier in the day to dismantle or overhaul the agency.

“I think we’re going to recommend that FEMA go away,” Trump said in Swannanoa, North Carolina, adding, “FEMA has been a very big disappointment.”
