If a bill proposed by Rep. Buddy Carter is passed, Greenland will be not only acquired by the United States, but also bear a new name — “Red, White, and Blueland.”
The Georgia Republican Monday presented a bill that would empower President Donald Trump to begin talks to “purchase or otherwise acquire” Greenland, an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, and give it a new name befitting its link with the United States, reported the New York Post on Tuesday.
“America is back and will soon be bigger than ever with the addition of Red, White, and Blueland,” Carter said in a statement. “President Trump has correctly identified the purchase of what is now Greenland as a national security priority, and we will proudly welcome its people to join the freest nation to ever exist when our Negotiator-in-Chief inks this monumental deal.”
