Newsmax this week gained access to Syria’s infamous Saydnaya jail, where prisoners of the Assad regime are rumored to be trapped underground.
The report comes nearly a month after the Syrian government fell in a stunning end to the 50-year rule of the Assad family after a sudden rebel offensive sprinted across government-held territory and entered the capital in 10 days.
Insurgents at the time announced they had entered the notorious Saydnaya military prison north of the capital and “liberated” their prisoners there.
