Mark Halperin to Newsmax: Democrats Can’t Compete

Political analyst Mark Halperin told Newsmax on Friday that Democrats continue to struggle in national polling because they cannot “compete right now on the things that matter.”

A new poll released on Thursday showed that the Democratic Party has a 57% unfavorable rating, which is a 16-year high. As the party looks to reset after ceding all three branches of government to the GOP, the Democrats are considering either Ken Martin or Ben Wikler to be the next chair of the DNC. Halperin said, “They’re tacticians, they’re not national names.”

“But no matter who wins, I don’t think it’s going to affect the ability of the Democratic Party to compete right now on the things that matter,” Halperin said during an appearance on “Rob Schmitt Tonight.”
