House Speaker Mike Johnson is huddling with President-elect Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, to discuss “strategy,” the Republican lawmaker told a news outlet.

“I’m going to be with him at Mar-a-Lago on New Year’s Day,” Johnson told News Radio 710 KEEL in Shreveport, La. “We’re going to map out some strategy, and he wanted to take photos and do a big endorsement on that day. I called him yesterday and said, ‘Mr. President, let’s go ahead and do that,’ (chuckles), so he did,” the speaker said.

Trump two days ago gave Johnson, R-La., his “complete and total endorsement” ahead of this month’s expected fight to hold onto the speakership.
