Calif. Assemblyman to Newsmax: Climate Change Is Dem Code for Inaction

California Assemblyman Josh Hoover told Newsmax on Friday that Democrats in the Golden State are unlikely to do anything to prevent the next wildfire because “climate change has become their code for inaction.”

On Friday, President Donald Trump met with California Gov. Gavin Newsom to survey the damage of the devasting wildfires that have ripped through Los Angeles the past two weeks. While Newsom approved two relief bills appropriating $2.5 billion to aid the recovery efforts, Hoover said the Democrats in the state Legislature rejected an additional $1 billion in wildfire prevention.

“Number one, I don’t think it’s a priority, but I think the biggest barrier in California is that so many of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle serve a radical environmental agenda that is strongly opposed to a lot of the things that are required for preventing these fires, meaning protecting certain plants and numerous regulations that make it difficult to actually carry out these projects,” Hoover said during an appearance on “The Record with Greta Van Susteren.”
