Walid Phares to Newsmax: Iran Is Trying to Stall for Time

Foreign policy analyst Walid Phares told Newsmax that Iran is intentionally dragging out the negotiations with the U.S. to try and “gain as much time as they can” while the country develops its nuclear ambitions.

On Saturday, Iran and the United States met in Rome to discuss newly imposed sanctions on Tehran designed to discourage the nation’s attempts to acquire a nuclear weapon.

I’ve heard that the regime is saying, ‘Oh, why don’t we start by one of the sanctions to be removed as a test?’ So they’re going to play that game on and on,” Phares said during an appearance on “Saturday Agenda.”
