While many Democrats are strongly protesting President Donald Trump’s desire to reform education, parent advocacy groups reportedly are urging the Senate to swiftly confirm Secretary of Education nominee Linda McMahon.

The American Principles Project (APP) endorsed McMahon in a letter Tuesday to the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chair Bill Cassidy, R-La., saying that its collective organizations “believe the Department desperately needs a complete overhaul after years of incompetence, hyper-partisanship, and a purposeful anti-Christian agenda,” the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.

“We are confident that once confirmed to the position, [McMahon] will end the Department’s weaponization toward certain colleges, promote education choice, and bring back common sense,” the group said in the letter.
