CIA: COVID-19 ‘More Likely’ to Have Come From Lab

The Central Intelligence Agency on Saturday said the COVID-19 pandemic was “more likely” to have emerged from a lab rather than from nature.

“CIA assesses with low confidence that a research-related origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely than a natural origin based on the available body of reporting,” an agency spokesman said in a statement.

New CIA Director John Ratcliffe has long said he believes the virus most likely emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
